As a partner in the ShapingNJ obesity prevention initiative, NJDA is happy to disseminate a new resource "Preventing Childhood Obesity in Early Care and Education Programs-Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards". These evidence-based standards have been developed as a joint effort of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Public Health Association and the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education and were released in late July 2010. Please share this timely information accordingly with colleagues to ensure that these most current national recommendations and the efforts that are underway to prevent childhood obesity are disseminated widely. The resource will be posted to the NJDA website and can be accessed by clicking here.
